Fishing Games Explained: How Shooting Games Pay at M2

The idea

Every Shot Is a Bet

A fishing game looks like an arcade shooter, and in a sense it is one: you aim a cannon at fish crossing the screen and fire. The difference is that every shot costs a fixed stake, and a fish that is caught pays that stake multiplied by its value. Fachai, now live on M2, is one of the studios that makes them, alongside its slots and arcade titles.

The paytable

Fish Values, and Why Big Fish Are Hard to Catch

Small, common fish carry low multipliers and are caught easily; larger and rarer fish pay far more and take many more shots, on average, before one lands. Each game’s paytable lists the value of every fish, and it is worth a look before you start, because it shows exactly where that game’s returns come from.

In most fishing games each shot has its own chance of catching what it hits, set by the fish’s value. Earlier hits on the same fish don’t build up towards a catch.

The extras

Bosses, Special Weapons and Bonus Rounds

  • Boss fish cross the screen now and then, carrying the highest values in the game.
  • Special weapons — bombs, lasers, drills and the like, depending on the title — can hit many fish at once.
  • Bonus rounds in some games are triggered by particular catches.

Which of these a game has, and how each one pays, is set out in its own help screen.

Controls

Cannon Level, Auto-Fire and Lock-On

Raising the cannon level raises the stake per shot, and the payout per catch rises with it; in most games the chance of a catch stays the same. Auto-fire keeps shooting without a tap and lock-on follows a single target. Both are conveniences, and both spend a balance faster than tapping by hand. That balance sits in your M2 account, and the guide to how the M2 register form works covers opening one.

Budget

Keeping a Fishing Session in Budget

  • Decide the session budget first, then pick a cannon level that gives you enough shots for it.
  • Watch the shots fired, not the catches. A busy screen makes it easy to lose track of what has been spent.
  • Cap what goes in. The deposit limit walkthrough covers choosing a cap and the period it runs over.

Away from the fishing screens, the reels and tables members choose most are gathered under M2’s most popular games.

Questions

Fishing Games — Quick Answers

How do fishing games pay out?

Each shot is a bet at the cannon’s stake. When a shot catches a fish, it pays that stake multiplied by the fish’s value from the paytable.

Does hitting a big fish many times make it easier to catch?

Not in most fishing games. Each shot has its own chance of catching what it hits, set by the fish’s value; earlier hits don’t build up.

Does a higher cannon level improve my chances?

In most games, no. It raises the stake per shot and the payout per catch together, while the chance of catching a fish stays the same.
